There are no "official" fairgrounds in Scranton. There are several sites in the city where carnivals locate, etc. The Oxford Plot in West Scranton hosted many carnivals, etc. Also, many Little League Fields are sites for this sort of thing. At one time (about 35-40 years ago, there was a large vacant lot on South Washington Avenue where the circus was held a few times, but I think that was just an area where houses had been lost in the big flood in 1955. Another possibility is Memorial Stadium on Providence Road in North Scranton. There may have been some sort of carnivals or festivals held there.
