West Side Paper December 7, 1926 Program Arranged for St. Patrick's Recital New Organ Will Be Opened Wednesday by Prof. Swinnen, Belgian-American Organist The music lovers of the city are greatly interested in the organ recital to be given at St. Patrick's church by Prof. Firmin Swinnen, Belgian-American organist, tomorrow evening at 8:15 o'clock. The organ upon which the great artist will play has just been installed in the church and is said to be one of the most costly in the city. The program as arranged will be as follows: Allegro (from the Sixth Symphony) Charles M. Widor Widor wrote ten organ symphonies; the fifth and sixth being the most popular. Widor is one of the greatest of modern organ composers. Berceuse (Cradle Song) Clarence Dickinson Clarence Dickinson is organist of the Brick Prebyterian church in New York. In this composition, he has caught the true spirit of a "Berce." Natural, flowing, .. music is supported by a . accompaniment. Menuet in D M. A. Mozart The menuet is taken from one of Mozart's . Ave Maria F. Schubert One of those immortal melodies which only Schubert could write. Toccata and Fugue in D J. S. Bach Considered as one of this composer's most brilliant writings.
