I am trying to track relatives that are living or have lived in the Wilkes Barre area. What I know is that my grandfather was killed by a train in 1928. He had two brothers living in the area, Robert and Frank. One of the brothers was married to an Anna. She lost an arm in a trolley acident. I believe there were also 2 children that I am aware of. One was Irene and the other was Vicky (Victoria). My grandfather's mother also lived in the Wilkes Barre area also. Her name was Victoria also and she lived to be 100 or close to it. Irene married a fellow from South Plainfield, NJ. His name was Johnny Schenker or Shenker or Shanker. They moved to CA. The had three sons. One, I believe, was killed in a motorcycle accident. Johnny also predeceased him having a heart attack. I believe that Frank also spent some time in prison for failing to pay alimony. That's about all I know. I'd love to find out more about the family and perhaps even make contact with any of them. As you are aware, part of the problem is that names like Zawatski in those days ended up being spelled many different ways. I have official documents of my granfather where the name is spelled about 5 different ways. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
