Joe, I would love to be there for Steve Webb, but 1,000 miles.............? If you tape it, I would love to get one. Joe, I wonder what it would cost to get copies of marriage and death records for about 10 or 12 people? Do you have records on film that you can copy or does someone have to actually go to the court house to get them? My friend in Germany is making good progress on my Dietrich side, and I'd like to fill in those who came to America. I have names and dates for most, but my one uncle and great-uncle are still mysteries after they got here. Also, my Mom's brother, William A. Dietrich, was born 18 Oct. 1883 in NYC, then lived in Scranton, and then lived in Providence RI before retiring and dying in FL.He had a daughter, Doris who was born about 1922 in Prov. She married (don't know his name) and had a son. After she died, I don't know what happened to him, except I believe his father took him out West, possibly to Ohio. That is one dead end, and I have two more. My grandfather, John Dietrich, had a son Franz (changed to Frank here) with his first wife in Germany, and he came over on March 10, 1883 with John's brother Jacob Dietrich and his wife Philippine, and 11-month old son, Carl on the Belgenland. I have their passenger list, but I don't know what happened to any of them after landing. I know Frank lived in NYC, but don't know if he died there. Frank supposedly married Mamie Murphy, a sister of the boxer Tommy Murphy. Frank was born in Germany in August of 1873 or 1874. He may have remarried about 10 years later, as a census has a Frank Dietrich married to someone else. He is another dead end. Also, Jacob, John's brother, disappears completely, except for my Mom saying he lived in Narrowsburg when her parents lived there a short time before moving to Honesdale, and then Scranton. I would really like to find him. I wondered if he ever went back to Germany. Long story, but when I get time ( I had to get an extension for my taxes - still not finished). I'll fill out your ancestor forms and send them in. Ruth
