Hi Sheri, This is a message I sent to Suzie, you might be interested in it also. Hi Susie, Your public library would probably be able to get the Scranton newspapers on microfilm for you through Inter Library Loan. The Pennsylvania STate Library has the films and your library would be borrowing them. There might be a small charge, about $3.00, maybe not, depending on your library, and you can keep the film for about three weeks. Actually the library keeps the film and you can view it any time you want in the 3 week period. I have done this many times and I live in Michigan. It's a great way to read about activities in Scranton at the time and you might find other valuable info along the way. While looking for an obituary I came across school news one day and there was something about a great uncle; he won a dollar for good attendance. You just order the films for the dates you want. It's very easy to find the date on the films, then you just have to cruise that day's paper to see where they've placed the obits. Good luck. Mary PS: Most libraries are open in the evening making it easier for working people to visit.
This is good news, and I wonder: how can I learn what other microfilms or records I might be able to ask my library to borrow?
