Hi, I would like recommendations about obtaining actual deeds once I have the information from the deed index. The transactions are prior to 1878 so the actual deeds would be in the Luzerne County courthouse (from what I understand). I checked the films at the FHC and I would have to order 6 different microfilms to get all of the deeds I am interested in. This is a possibility, although it would require a 2 trips to a FHC and there are none too close to my home. Has anyone actually ordered deeds right from the courthouse once they have the index information? Is this even something that you can do? Does anyone know what it would cost or how long it would take? I am trying to decide which to do. Any recommendations? Thanks, Carol
