The Luzerne County Poor House, Pittston district, was located at Ransom, Lackawanna Co. In later years this was known as either the Newton-Ransom, or Luzerne County, Convalesant Home. The Berkins Twp. reference mystifies me. I believe you must mean Jenkins Twp. which is just outside Pittston. All of those locations are Luzerne County; however, I am at a loss to identify any institutions other than the Pittston Hospital in that area. Perhaps some other lister would know of others. ----- Original Message ----- From: "DJWilsey67" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, May 03, 2005 11:47 AM Subject: [PA-LAC] Institution Ransom Twp. or Berkins Twp., Pittston City, poor district > > > Can some one tell me what Institution/prison was in the Ransom Twp., or > Berkins Twp., Pittston City and Pittston Twp., Lackawanna Co., PA as written > on 1920 Federal Census sheet. > > > > There is a Frank Galuska age 48 listed and trying to determine if he is > connected to a Veronica Ann Galuska that I am researching. > > > > Thanks, Don Wilsey > > Sayre, PA > > > > ==== PALACKAW Mailing List ==== > Have you visited the Genealogical Research Society of NE PA? http://www.cfrobbins.com/grsnp/ > To unsubscribe: http://www.rootsweb.com/~palackaw/mailist.html#unsubscribe > > >
Richard, You are correct on all accounts. When I first looked at it the image it was very difficult to read. After I enlarged the image I see it as you say. I found the record in the Lackawanna County section. The Galuska name has been difficult to trace. I am trying to prove another's records. Many thanks.
