Hello List: I want to share all the information that many of you have shared with me on the: Eidy "Eddy" Creek Colliery It has been referred to as both the "Eidy" and "Eddy" Creek Colliery. It was located off South Valley Avenue near the Throop town line in the Smoketown area of Olyphant Township, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. It has not been in operation for the past 50 or so years. It was owned by the Delaware and Hudson Coal Company. The 1909 Report of the Department of Mines - Anthracite for the Second Anthracite District lists the Olyphant, Legitts Creek, Eddy Creek and Marvine collieries. Hope this helps.
