Pennsylvania Online Access to Archives Pennsylvania has announced the availability of free online access to the state's historical records through its Archives Records Information Access System (ARIAS), located at http://www.digitalarchives.state.pa.us . A total of over half a million records will ultimately be available online, and over 200,000 of these are already online. These include the Revolutionary War Military Abstract Card File, World War I Service Medal Application Cards, and the Spanish American War Veterans' Card File of United States Volunteers. Yet to be digitized are the Civil War Veterans' Card File and the Mexican Border Campaign Veterans' Card File. You can search the indexes, which are arranged alphabetically, and display an individual's card, manipulate the orientation of the image, and print it. This resource will then be your pointer to primary source documents in military records. This is an excellent site for Pennsylvania researchers!
