DO NOT make these kinds of assumptions, the cost varies considerably from county to county, as does the content of many early applications and records. If you are looking in Lackawanna Co. between 1886 and 1905, you will get parents name's - their first names, sometimes first and last, but rarely the mother's maiden name., and usually a birthdate, sort of. That is, you will get the age of the contracting parties at their last birthday, and if they were under 22, the date of their last birthday. From 1905 - 1913, no bithdates, just age, and no parents names at all. If you expect to get the same info in (for example) Carbon or Luzerne Co. for that time period, forget it. Age and birthdates, yes; parents' names not at all. Sometimes the cost of photocopies vary widely; usually is a quarter, but it can run as high as $1.
