Dear Lists: Between 1875 and 1890 what ports did the Welsh use to exit Wales and to enter the U.S? What ships would have taken them from Monmouthshire, Wales to Scranton, PA? Thanks for any information you could possible give to me. Donna from CT Searching the names PRICE, and WORRELL both from Tredegar, Wales and imigrated to Scranton, Pennsylvania USA
Donna During the period you mention the most likely as already mentioned were Liverpool and Southhampton. However, a note of caution, during the period of Ellis Island they are more likely to arrive in NY prior to that then it could be either NY or Philadelphia. My family emigrated during the period you mention from both Liverpool and Southampton arriving in NY.
