I am in the processing of contacting potential long distant relatives of mine who are currently living (fortunately we have a unique last name). I would like to send a form for them to list all of their family information so I can fill in some missing links in the family tree. Now my question, has anyone else tried to do this (i.e. contacting living relatives you have never met)? Can you suggest a form that would be simple for others that are perhaps not interested in genealogy to fill out? Can you make any suggestions on how to approach people I have never met and ask them for their families information? In this day and age I know most people are hesitate and protective of any of their vital info (i.e. date of births, date of marriages, etc.). Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Allison
