Getting closer all the time, as I found my ggggrandmother's obit and also her grave in Cathedral Cemetery. Now have some new leads to follow up on Scranton Times and Republican obits reported Mrs. Mary (GORMAN) GERRITY HAMMEL died at home of her daughter Mrs. Michael J. ROWAN (sic RUANE) at 522 4th. The articles went on discuss her life as a pioneer in the area. Surviving were sons Anthony and James GERRITY; daughters Mrs. Michael J. RUANE, Scranton; Mrs Hannah OSBORNE of Chicago ; and Mrs. Daniel ADNEY of Wisconsin and sister Mrs. John CASEY of Scranton. Mrs. Mary GORMAN GERRITY HAMMEL was the grandaunt of District Attorney David J. REEDY. I subsequently found that David J. REEDY married Agnes CROSSEN in Scranton in 1901. Looking for any information on the above folks....especially M/M John CASEY and David REEDY and Agnes CROSSEN families. Thanks Walt
