Good stuff, Susan in San Jose! Sandy, my Barretts were in Dunmore, beginning at the latest in 1897, when my great grandfather Michael Barrett died. His funeral Mass was at St. Paul's in Green Ridge, but he was buried at St. Thomas Aquinas in Archbald. That always seemed to me to be a long hike from the Mass to the cemetery, especially in 1897, so I've always assumed he had family in Archbald, but haven't been able to prove it to my satisfaction. Based on other records, my Barretts were related to some Munleys and McAndrewses, and there were quite a few of them in Archbald around the turn of the 20th century. Your Alice is about the same age as my grandmother Nora Barrett. So maybe they were cousins, who knows? Jack in Cincinnati
