In the center of the "Traffic Circle" there was a monument of Anthracite Coal that disappeared during the construction of the present day interchange. A couple years ago, while passing through the area, I went in search for this monument. I took a couple of pictures and posted them at: http://www.geocities.com/coal_monument/ According to the plaque it was re-dedicated in 1989. I presume that the new highway configuration was completed prior to this dedication.
