Laurence, Coincidently, I was doing some research on a family and came across a Mary J. Lance, born in 1859 in Walnut Valley, NJ. The marriage license states her parents were William and Sharlet Lance. She married Colvin Freeman, born in 1853 in Mt. Pleasant, Wayne County, PA, son of Obadiah and Hannah Freeman, on 3 July 1890 at Moscow, Lackawanna County, PA by Franklin Latouche, Justice of the Peace. It states "parents all dead" Also Colvin was married prior to a Jennie ______ ? who died 4 Aug 1888 You will find Colvin and Mary in Roaring Brook Twp in 1900 and 1910 census. In 1920 Colvin is in Moscow listed as a widower. The FREEMAN family is connected to the SHEERER and BEAVERS families that are connected to my KIZER family. I hope this helps.
