Do you have the accurate month & year of the first two daughter's births (e.g. from the 1900 census, if you can find them)? You might use freebmd.org.uk to look for them if so. Without that, there are too many Mary & Sarah Evans, as I'm sure you have realized. Also, did you notice the Cadwaladr Evans next door in 1860? Perhaps an older brother or cousin? Getting the birth records for the children is certainly a good idea. I know the UK ones would list her maiden name. Good luck. -steve

I have the year of Mary & Sarah's birth but not the month. My biggest problem is Reese's obit states that he was born in Carmarthenshire and the ship's manifest lists him as a farmer, but in PA he was always a miner. Since the county of Carmarthenshire is an agricultural area, I assumed he learned his mining skills in the adjacent county of Glamorgan. So I'm not sure if he married Mary in Carmarthenshire or somewhere else...soooo, I'm not sure where Mary & Sarah were born. I have searched through the limited online records from Glamorgan and Carmarthenshire and have maybe found a few clues but not enough to send for a birth record. It's very frustrating.
