    3. Hello List, My husband has a copy of his father's baptismal certificate from St Adelberts Polish National Catholic Church. The family was living in Peckville but the certificate says the service was held in Priceburg on Dec 2, 1919. Where is/was Priceburg? We have checked for records at the Polish National Catholic church in Peckville with no luck ( I think it was in Peckville its been quite a few years) Can someone help me? We are trying to find the family's burials. Linda Dabulewicz

Nothing on it mentions the name Leo but even tho it's faint, I can read she was 25 yrs. old and born in Ireland, he 26, born in Long Island. Mary was a clerk, Henry, a laborer. Both residents of Scranton and married at the Cathedral. No witnesses were listed. The marriage day is very faint but if you need it, I'll try to read it. Her parents were Michael Flynn and Mary Flynn. I copied a few Flynn marriage licenses awhile back while in Scranton, trying to trace my Flynn family. Michael W., John and Mary Flynn born in Hudson, NY of Michael Flynn & Mary Holloran, later found Michael W. in Scranton. I've been trying to find the proper John and Mary Flynn since. As yet unsuccessful. We've shared info in the past. Nice to see you're still digging. I hope to again study old Scranton newspapers in the near future from here in Michigan at the library, just reading for gossip & so forth. If you find anything conclusive on the above, please let me know. Happy St. Patrick's day. Mary Casey ************************************** AOL now offers free email to everyone. 1. [PALACKAW] 1892 Will, Patrick Flynn; 1915 Will, Nellie Flynn
    2. Anne Tullar
    3. This is a long shot, but I am going to give a short summary of wills I got from the Lackawanna Co. courthouse that I cannot identify one way or another-- as to whether these Flynns are ancestors. The names are so common that there's not much to go on, but I would enjoy hearing from anyone who has any thoughts about the documents. 11 January 1892, Patrick Flynn leaves everything to his wife, Bridget. The witnesses are Edward F. Boyle and Edward Murphy. On 24 February, 1892, Bridget Flynn, widow and executrix testifies "that the decedent left to survive him a widow and nine children all of age except four who are under age. Bridget signs with an "x". The Register is H. T. Koehler. Everything else on the two pages is legal boilerplate. It looks as though it was drawn up by a lawyer. Next, Scranton PA, March 12, 1915. I Nellie Flynn hereby do bequest to Leo A. Hengler $150 in cash, Anna Bird $25 in cash, and Annie B. Hengler a judgment note of $150 against (vs.) Belle Murphy and Mrs. B. Murphy, and Annie B. Hengler $707.73 in cash. This will maid [sic] the 12 day of March 1915. I also appoint Leo A. Hengler Administrator. Witnesses were Patrick J. Langan and P. J. Ruddy. Nellie Flynn signed her name with a shaky but legible hand. On 18 June 1915, R. H. Dean and John S. Harris submit an appraisal at the request of Leo A. Hengler, the executor. No identifying names or addresses on the appraisal. Anybody know of these Henglers and Murphys? 2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old letter which was written by Chas. NEEDLE of Olyphant, Pennsylvania in November 1891. The letter is written in hebrew so I have no idea what the content of the letter might be. The letter is written on stationary from M. NEEDLE, Dealer in Dry Goods, Boots and Shoes, Groceries and provisions, Sole Agent for Pillsbury's Best in Olyphant, PA. The letter is inside an envelope printed with the name and address of the "Palmer Photoplay Corporation, Palmer Building, Hollywood, CA", including a handwritten note "The Chas. 1. [PALACKAW] John Hoskins, where did you go...
    2. Hoskins
    3. Trying to determine what happened to my gg'grandfather, John Hoskins,a miner, and family after 1860. John and his eldest son James emigrated from England to the States in the spring of 1849.They established a home in Luzerne County, PA. His wife,Elizabeth, followed the next January 1850, with their remaining 4 children.William 17,Gulielma 11,Charles 5 and Elisa 2. James(my g'grandfather) married Sarah Young in 1858, started a family and served in the Civil War, 1862-1865.After the war he returned to West Pittston. The family of John appears in the 1850,1860 census for Providence Twp,Dunmore, Luzerne County,PA.William is missing, possibly being on his own as he came as a laborer. Gulielma is also absent, could have worked as a domestic servant, as per the times.I know Gulielma married circa 1856 to a Reuben Mowrey, and raised a family and staying in Dunmore until her death.Only John and Elizabeth and the two youngest Charles and Elisa appear in the census. I have been told(no proof),by a fellow genealogest in England, that Elizabeth died in England in 1864, and that Elisa married in England in 1872. If that is true, I can't find info as to when they returned, as there does not seem to be records of returning passenger manifests. Also what happened to my gg'grandfather John? Did he die(haven't found any record of)and Elizabeth, then feeling alone, return? Being a miner, they certainly were not rich, what would be the cost to return? Where do I go from here, appreciate any help.
