    3. Hello List, I saw an inquiry on Benjamin Benjamin yesterday and thought this may be of some help. On a recent trip to Nicholson I went to the GRSNP( http://www.cfrobbins.com/grsnp/ ), in Olyphant to look up some records. Joe Bryer was, and continues to be such a tremendous help in finding my ancestors records!!! Anyhow, he looked up all Benjamins in Luzerne and Wyoming Co., PA for the years 1850 and 1860 for me. In 1850 there was a Benjamin BENJAMIN living in Wilkes-Barre Twnp, Luzerne Co., PA and you will find him on page 400 of that census. Hope this helps a little. The vast majority of Benjamin of the NE PA area are related in some way or another. On my web site I have a photograph of a Benjamin Family reunion that was taken between 1908 and 1911 I believe although the picture is marked 1908. It is clickable so you can get a close up view of six different sections of the photograph. If anyone sees any familiar faces let me know!!! The addy is www.pics.com/~garthe Garthe Leland Benjamin

    3. Susan, I hadn't seen your site before. I too took some photos while in the Stephens Cemetery. I was looking for, and found some Benjamins I had read off of someone else's Stephens Cemetery transcription of the whole cemetery. That link is: http://home.stny.rr.com/brown/stephens.htm Oddley enough I only found that web site while using Google.com, an internet search engine, to find any info I could on Abram and Jerusha Benjamin who's names I got from the old baptismal records of the Providence Methodist Episcopal Church! WOW!!! Talk about unexpected treasures. Anyhow, my father lives directly across the Tunckanock creek from about where the Stepehsn Cemtery is. If you were to head back toward Nicholson leaving the cemetery and took the first left off of 92, then the first left again onto Vic's lane right after the small bridge crossing the Tunckanock creek, it would take less than two minutes and you would be at our property there in the hills of Nicholson. Eventually he would like to turn it into a weekend campground with small cabins, a perfect centralized spot to relax and do your genealogical research from! It is a very welcome place. I hope to have the pictures developed soon, as well as those that I've taken at the Nicholson Cemetery, Dunmore Cemetery, and Dickson City Primitive Methodist Cemetery. I'm hoping to have some time soon to redo my own web site to post all of my new BENJAMIN family findings to my own web site at: www.pics.com/~garthe Sorry to bore those of you looking for answers and having no idea of the places I'm talking about. Keep searching and remember there is truth in documentation! 3. Hello List I just got home from Scranton a little while ago have to feed the chickens and goat soon. I am a bit disappointed. We had fun looking at records in Olyphant and Joe was very informative . The maps he drew us were a great help we did not get lost at all. Too bad we could not find a single relative buried at St Marys or St Adelberts. We really need to see burial records for both of these cemeteries. There are so many upturned headstones and brush piles at St Marys on Pentacost st that we may have missed our family members. I told Pete that I wished I had brought something with me to trim the branches back fromthe headstones so we could read them. Next time I will take some pruners and Off with me. We found one of the homes the Dabulewicz had lived in in Olyphant and got the general idea where great grandma used to live. Now maybe I can finally find her on the census. The house would have been just off of Lane street on the other side of Sterrick creek breaker. Got to go . Linda

    3. Hey all, I have a hard time posting to this groups, so I apologize now if something doesn't come out right. I offered to Anne to help with any record keeping or database building for the Cathedral cemetary project in planning. I also have relatives there and unfortunately, with two young kids any my husband working shifts, the best way I can offer my services is to help in this way. One thing I wanted to note, about the records at Cathedral, not all the records are kept at the cemetary, some of my relatives are back on the old St. John's section and the records are maintained by one of the local churches (I can't remember the name of the church, just that it is on Jackson St. in Scranton). I am not sure how difficult that can become. I think this would be great if we can get it organized properly, and whatever I can do, I would certainly be willing.
