Hi, I knew a Fenstermacher from the Pocono area many years ago. I believe his name was Richard, but I could be wrong. I may be able to trace him back, but he is dead now. Ruth

Grandfather Richard James Sr. b. about 1900 married Elizabeth Davis. They had one child, Richard James III b. 1919. Grandfather disappeared and Elizabeth remarried Thomas Evans. Thomas Evans was a Scranton fireman and died on duty. Richard James Sr. was a Scranton policeman. All lived in the Scranton area. Any connections? Thanks Jim cactuspatch@charter.net

Good morning~ Is anyone researching the surname WILLIAMS? I just found my great aunt living in Hamlin about 1980. Her name was Mabel Williams & she was born February 26, 1899. Her husband was Russell. As a young married couple they lived in New York, Brooklyn I think. Mabel & Russell had at least one daughter, Edna, who married Lt. Robert Fenstermacher. Family verbal history was that Edna was killed in an auto accident not long after her marriage. TIA Curly PS Where is Hamlin? First time I have heard of this area. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp

Laura Thank you Laura, its very much appreciated. Since writing, I have received information from another source that the 1st Marine Division was the only Division to serve in both WWII and Korea. So this is probably my cousin's division. Your information may able me to narrow it down further. Looking for information on a Rev. John Shelley or Schelley who married Jacbo Rosar and Mary Jordan in 1868 in Scranton. Would like to know what denomination he would have been.
Does any one know if Dalton would be contained in a state census? My ggrandparents lived in Dalton in the latter 1890s through 1907 at least.Does Scranton Library haave Electrol rolls for Dalton? They were buried in Dalton, but have not been able to find where.I was there 3 times. I can never find any city official in the offices. I think they may meet once a month in the evening. I've combed every cem. around there but no stone. Does any one know who holds the records for the Dalton Cem-across the road fron the Hebrew Cem. I have found that a woman has burial records, but don't know her name. If you have ANY information at all ,PLEASE respond. I plan to come up from NC again soon to try once more and need SOME leads. Also, I need a place to stay for about a week-maybe longer at a VERY reasonable rate- a rooming house or some such. Can't afford the high motel rates there! $20-$30 would be great. Thanks for listening. Sally
