I know Dupont Boro is located in Lucerne county, but my posting inquires on the Lucerne web site have gone unanswered. So, I am hoping someone on this web site may know the answer. I am looking for the Dupont Boro Enumeration District for the 1910 census. I have gone through reels of microfilm and was unable to locate the census for Dupont. Thanks, Jerry..........
Hello Amy A while back you had sent a request for a look up on Oak Street at the courthouse. Have you received this? I am going to the Courthouse tomorrow and would try and look this up for you. Do you have info on Mary Moran's children? If you have any names and dates, perhaps I can look for them in the marriage records. Let me know today, please. We are leaving tomorrow morning. Joe: You might try the parish records at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. The church was there at the time and a new one (replacement) was built there in 1900. It was Primarily Irish Catholic and I found records there of my Grandmothers family who lived there in the same period, 1860 through 1911. Just to add a little to the below: Hamlin is shown on an old post card I've seen as Hamlinton--this would have been in the early 20th Century---My Great Grandfather ran the Hamlin Hotel for a time----Otto Dolmetsch- probably from about 1910 or so up until the 30s MathTchr96@aol.com wrote: > Someone asked about Hamlin the other day. Looking for Anna WESTLAKE of Scranton, PA. Born in the 1860s in PA, she is listed in the 1880 census for Scranton, with her father Robert WESTLAKE. I don't know if she married, I don't know when she died. Looking for information on her. Debbie
Someone asked about Hamlin the other day. I was away, and am just catching up. Specifically, Hamlin is part of Salem Township in Wayne County. It is getting to be a very built up area, but for the longest time was (and still is) the corners of the intersection of Routes 191 and 590. Tom Price
I the 1900 Federal Census for US out on CD yet. If so where can I purchase it? Thanks,
Looking for a family named Wetter or Welter in Scranton living on Maple Street in 1886. Lenora from Wisconsin
Looking for information on a Steven Lyman b. abt 1877 who was married to a Rosar. Lenora from Wisconsin
I made a little mistake when I was typing. Stephen Coggins died in 1943, not 1843, and therefore was not on the index but had applied in 1936. Carol
Hi, I wanted everyone to know that I did receive an SS5 on my g grandfathers brother even though he was not listed on the Social Security Death Index. I found his number on his death certificate. I wrote a letter to Social Security using that number and included his death certificate with along with it. It took about 7 weeks. He was not on the Social Security death index because he died in 1843. He applied for his Social Security number in 1936. His SS5 had information that his death certificate lacked because he filled it out himself. His children did not know his mothers maiden name and did not put his date of birth on the death certificate. Hope this information is useful to someone else. Carol

Hi: I have a John Walsh who was my ggrandfather's brother. He was born Nov (looks like 29th) 1871. He died May 29, 1901. This information is according to old Bible records. Other than that, I don't have any information on him. I don't know whether he was married or single. Hope this helps; Sincerely, Mike Cavanaugh Buffalo, NY
Correct on the newspaper title. It is available I-L-L from the PA State Library. Perhaps you can narrow down the year as there is a 1907-08 directory available. -----Original Message----- From: Joe Callahan <jcallaha@ctctel.com> To: PALACKAW-L@rootsweb.com <PALACKAW-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Sunday, August 19, 2001 8:57 PM Subject: [PA-LAC] help c'dale lookup nwspaper >Hello.. anyone here monitoring from carbondale? If you can get to Scranton, check the Scranton City Directories. If she had a business it would be in there. The directories are Alphabetical by name. If you are to far, try the interlibrary loan system. Check your local library for details. This is the web site for the Albright Memorial Library in Scranton. http://www.albright.org/ I've had lots of luck in doing my research with the SCD's and then translating that information into the Ward # and then getting the census page from where my ancestor's resided in Scranton. My ancestral time-line spans 1830 up into the 1950's in Scranton. Hope this helps you. I have hit a large brick wall with my great grandmother. Her name was Mary McNulty Moran and she lived in Scranton for her entire life. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Church and from her obituary very active in the community & church. While I know that the obit was probably written by her family, I would like to believe there is some truth upon which it is based. She lived in the "notch" area of Scranton on Oak Street for most of her adult life. She married Patrick Moran and was the daughter of Patrick McNulty & Helen Ryan. She was born in 1862 and died in 1928. She had 11 children, all of whom she raised in Scranton. Any suggestions of any more information I can get on her other than birth, death and census.
