Bill Jennings SUMMIT MAN IS 87 TODAY JENNINGS RECALLS WOODCHOPPING DAYS Another milestone in his career will be celebrated today by Lewis Erwin Jennings Clarks Summit, when he observes his 87th birthday. Born at Steer, Nothampton County, his varied lifetime includes the sawing of wood to be used as fuel for engines on the old Lackawanna Railroad. In recalling his woodchopping days Jennings said, "It was four foot wood we sawed it in half to burn in the engines. The first week we cut 25 cords each day." Because his father enlisted in the Civil War, Jennings was required to get out and work, although but 11 years old at the time. His first job was on a farm at Richmond, Pa., with his board and room as the only recompense. In 1872 he went to Newton and for 23 years did this type of work and there learned the masonry trade work at the Hillside Home. In 1920 he traveled through France, England and Wales. Proudly he says, "I have been a Republican all my life and have taken The Scranton Tribune for 60 years."

I have just begun my research so I do not have much. What I know is that Vincent BRACALI was born 20 Aug 1943 and died 31 Jul 2002. His father was also Vincent BRACALI born 04 Jul 1897 and died in Apr 1965. His mother was Yolanda PANFINI born 13 Oct 1904 and died 14 Mar 1975. Vincent II grandfather was Germano BRACALI unknown date of birth or death. And his grandmother was Maria Stella CASSELLI unknown on her date of birth or death. The family immigrated to Scranton and Jessup (I also was told Egnon and Peckville) from Scheggia, Italy. The only BRACALI I have been able to find in the Census in this area is a Denetri BRACALI in the 1920 census. I do not know yet how he is related. Yes..thank you very much that is the family. I never had the 1880 census. I know that John & Mary WEISMER both remarried and started new families. Mary married SCHEIGG in Scranton and is found in the 1930 census and John WEISMER married Elizabeth HANNIBEL in Mountaintop...Then my trail ends. Actually, I was shocked. I thought divorce was unheard of in 1900.
