Hello Listees, I'm putting this out on several lists so my apologies if you get this message more than once........ I am the president of a new 80-member, fledgling GS, formed in May of 1998. Our 1999 project is to catalog all the cemeteries and burials in the county, some of which have been done already by the parent county "back when". This is completely new to us. How to proceed is beyond our ability to determine. Has anyone out there been involved in this kind of project and if so, can you be so kind as to give us some guidelines. Here's the catch: Our county is comprised of 172 ISLANDS! There are cemeteries that many people don't even know exist, including indian burial grounds. Much will be done by private boat or plane. This should not present a problem: just take longer, but procedure and accuracy are our concerns at present. TIA for any help or guidelines........ Also, how does YOUR GS handle outside queries with roots in your county? We want to establish a policy and help in any way we can. Thanks for your advice.
