    3. Mary, My great-grandmother was Mary BENNER, born in Juniata County 22 December 1864. She was the daughter of Solomon BENNER, born 1842 in Pennsylvania and descends from Johannes BENNER, who was one of two BENNER brothers who immigrated to PA from Germany either in 1742 as believed by one published researcher, Hannah Benner Roach, or by 1734 if a tax record that shows a Johannes Benner is more correct. At this point, I don't have your John Benner in my files. However, I suspect because of the common Juniata County residence, that there may be a link. We just have to fill in the gaps to determine where that common link occurs. By the way, the Hannah Benner Roach series, "Detective Work Among the Benners," was published in the Bulletin of the Historical Society of Montgomery County between 1949 and 1953. Copies are still available from the society.
