Hi, I'm looking for any available information on Valentine Wisehaupt (d. c.1701? or later) buried in Church Hill cemetery outside Port Royal with various related families, including the Reiss [Rice] family) & descendants. My mother's family moved from Port Royal to Lewistown, Mifflin County in the early 1900s. We've never been able to determine where the Wisehaupts came from in Germany. I would assume that the original spelling of the surname was 'Weishaupt" or "Weisshaupt," but in the 1810 census the family (or census taker) had changed the spelling to "Wisehaupt." As far as I know, the Juniata Co. Wisehaupts were farmers & millers, but after the move to Mifflin Co., things changed. ANY assistance would be appreciated! Best, E. S.
