For what it's worth, there was a lady in Bellingham, Wa. who spent her life researching her maiden name of DUNN. She died in Jan. of 1998. Her research took her far and wide and especially throughout Pa. She even wrote a book on the DUNN family which is at the Bellingham Public Library. It is probably reference only: not available on inter-library loan, but the Whatcom Genealogical Society has a research aide who would gladly assist any interested parties in looking up information.
