The Rice family was very prominent in Mifflin (now Juniata) Co. at the time Catherine Rice lived. The oldest section of the Old Church Hill (Lutheran) Cemetery begun in 1802 near Port Royal, Juniata Co. is named the "Rice Section." There are about four dozen persons with the Rice surname buried in that section, for whom I have gravestone information.
