Hi, I'm looking for any available information on Valentine Wisehaupt (d. c.1701? or later) buried in Church Hill cemetery outside Port Royal with various related families, including the Reiss [Rice] family) & descendants. My mother's family moved from Port Royal to Lewistown, Mifflin County in the early 1900s. We've never been able to determine where the Wisehaupts came from in Germany. I would assume that the original spelling of the surname was 'Weishaupt" or "Weisshaupt," but in the 1810 census the family (or census taker) had changed the spelling to "Wisehaupt." As far as I know, the Juniata Co. Wisehaupts were farmers & millers, but after the move to Mifflin Co., things changed. ANY assistance would be appreciated! Best, E. S. Collison Note: the 1st family gravestone carvings are in fraktur & have weathered so badly that they're nearly illegible. (Sandstone was used; thus the weathering.)
Suzanna, Try the Juniata Historical Society at juncohistsoc@jc-net.com Also the Mifflintown Historical Society is a great help. Don't know if they have e-mail but I'm sure you can check for it on the internet. Also the Courthouse in Mifflintown. GOOD LUCK! Hi, What direction can anyone give me about locating the PENNYPACKER/PENNYBACKER families who lived in Juniata County during the 1870's - 1880's and onward? Thanks Suzanna
Hi, I am interested in information for Hugh McAlister of Mcalisterville PA. His daughter married John North son of Joshua North and Rebecca Cloyd. They were married 21/ Nov 1822. I am also interested in Thomas McAllister who married Mary Jane Jordan, daughter of Jeremiah Jordan and Margaret Foresman. Thomas and Mary were married in LaPorte Co IN as the Jordan family had moved there from Lycoming CO. PA. Thomas was from the Philadelphia area but am not 100% on that. I have a lot of JORDAN, NORTH , RAMBO etc information to share if it can help. Thank you Sylvia McAllister smcallis@mindspring.com

Dear Stephanie, According to Dunkelberger"s The Story of Snyder County, Adam Reger (1749-1826) founded this town in 1806. He was a native of Germany and lived on land later known as the Samuel Shirley farm. He and his wife, Charlotte (1757-1832) are buried in the Old Cemetery in Beaver Springs. Hope this helps ... gary grove

I am trying to do some research on one of my grandsire's surname, Rager. I trying to find information about two Rager boys who came down from Lancaster to meet with Chief Shikellamy. They traveled down to Snyder County together to arrange a piece treaty. I am not quite sure where the actual event took place at. Also I know that at least one of the Ragers married an Indian princess of Chief Shikellamy. Any information that I can gather would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for all of your help. I am researching my grandfather's side of the family, and I am wondering if anybody has information pertaining to Adam Rager (Reger) and Charlotte Rager. The only information that I have about them is that Beaver Springs was originally named after Adam Rager; originally named Adamsburg, Ragertown. Any information that you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Sincerely, Stephanie A. Ripple tohightech@adelphia.net 2hightech@adelphia.net
For what it's worth, there was a lady in Bellingham, Wa. who spent her life researching her maiden name of DUNN. She died in Jan. of 1998. Her research took her far and wide and especially throughout Pa. She even wrote a book on the DUNN family which is at the Bellingham Public Library. It is probably reference only: not available on inter-library loan, but the Whatcom Genealogical Society has a research aide who would gladly assist any interested parties in looking up information. If anyone is interested, get back to me for addresses and e-mails. Glad to help any way I can. Joyce ----- Original Message ----- From: Richard E. Pauline Re Belle Naylor, Emmanuel Lutheran Church cemetery listing gives born 1871, died 1965. That's all I know.
Pauline Thanks for info on Arabella Stahl and Irvin Naylor Selma Belle Naylor Dunn died Feb. 13, 1972, at Johnstown, PA, and was buried in the Garden of Vespers (Lot 74A) in the Blair Memorial Park in Bellwood, Blair Co., PA. This cemetery has flat brass markers and so it is not easy to find a gravesite without knowing about where to look. If you visit, suggest you do so when office is open. Richard E.
