So I would say this answers your question about the existence of a Port Royal paper in 1900, and it suggests to me that the paper maintains their own files on old issues, or at least knows where to access the old papers. Since THE TIMES places sufficient value on history to reprint interesting items from the past in a regular column of their paper, I believe they will help you in your research around 1900. In my copy of the 1987 phone book the address and phone number is given as THE PORT ROYAL TIMES, 111 W. 4th Street, Port Royal, Pa. (Postal Zip Code available by dialing 1-800-275-8777). The Paper's phone number in 1987 was 717-527-2213. Nelson R. Sulouff Retired in Arizona

    2. Greetings, This will be the last post that I will make for a long time, as I am drained from doing this project. On my site I have compiled the following information in my "All Things Section" of my site located at: http://www.geocities.com/geojenk Be patient as I have a lot of great stuff packed on the pages till I can tweak them for faster loading. Detailed History of McKeesport, Pa Genealogy and Biographies of Early McKeesporters (These are very detailed genealogical biographies on close to 400 individuals that immigrated to McKeesport from other countries/states.) Pictures and Biographies of Prominent Early McKeesporters (Part of above) Western Pennsylvania Family Group Genealogies (Genealogical Biographies on close to 400 family groups that lived in Western Pa. Includes families country of origin where applicable) Biographies of Service Men (WWI) (Men and women who served in WWI from the W. Pa. Area. Detailed info concerning their service record and also a lot of their pictures.) Pictures of Life in 1900s - Western Pa. (Close to 60 pictures showing how life was in W. 1. [PAJUNIATA] Baker, Bruner, Miller
    2. Darlene Corrigan
    3. Hello. I am looking for information on the Juniata County surnames BAKER, BRUNER AND MILLER. Amelia BAKER (daughter of Peter and Polly Baker) was married to Benjamin Franklin MILLER. Their son Samuel was my g-grandfather. I don't have a birth date for Amelia or for her husband, but my guess (according to his age on the 1850 census) is that he was born c 1810. They had 6 children by 1848/49: Suzanne/Susan (b.1834) Daniel (b.1838) twins - Lewis (b.18 July 1842 d.28 Nov 1917) m. Margaret Fowles (1840-1922) and Samuel (b. 18 July 1842 d. 15 Mar 1932) m. Mary Ellen Halliwell (1848-1926) Mary Jane (b. 1844) Darwin (b. 1848/49) By 1850, Amelia Baker Miller had died and Benjamin Franklin Miller had married Sarah BRUNER. Sarah Bruner was born about 1818. Sarah Bruner and Benjamin Franklin Miller had 5 children: Jacob (b. ?) Benjamin F. (b. 1852 d. after 1917) Delilah/Elizabeth (b. 1854) Annie (b. 1860) Rebecca (b. 1863) Can anyone help me with information about any of these people? 1. [PAJUNIATA] SHORT - DUNBAR - GRAY - SHAFFER
    2. Donna Heller Zinn
    3. Hello Fellow Listers: I am attempting to find any information or verification that a William SHORT (b.ca.1770) married Elizabeth DUNBAR. William and Elizabeth DUNBAR SHORT presumably resided in/around the area of Concord and Fannett Twp., Franklin Co., PA., and Lack, Juniata Co., PA.. They had at least one son, William SHORT (b.30-Oct-1798 d.14-Apr-1884) who married on 10-Oct-1822 at Waterloo, Lack Twp., Juniata Co., PA. to Catharine GRAY (b.20-Mar-1801 d.28-Jul-1892 d/o James and Rebecca SHAFFER GRAY). There have been conflicting stories passed down through the family about the elder William SHORT. Some have said that his son came alone from Ireland at the age of 7 years while others say that the elder William came here and settled. I am attempting to help a fellow by the name of Sam JONES trace his very elusive ancestry, as he does not have internet access. All information presented above was supplied to me by him and I have not verified it yet. Any hints or help greatly appreciated!!! Donna HELLER ZINN of Newville, Cumberland Co., PA.
