I agree with Merle, there are a lot of LIARS (I can name one) out there who say they are your family, but are not. You have to take what they give you with a grain of salt. Some claim that they will work with you then they turn around and accuse you of giving wrong information when they are mistakes, they even go as far as to try and ruin your relationship with your family because they think they are better than everyone else (little do they know they are the laughing stock and people call them CRAZY), that they have all the answers and that they KNOW EVERYTHING, when in fact they know very little. They are not willing to help out people, but are always asking for help from someone. "Please look this up Please look that up," but are not willing to do look ups for anyone else when they have the access to everything! I had a bad experience with a LEACH, that keep asking me to spend HUNDREDS of dollars, not a few, to go to this historical society or the Archives. I'm not made of money, but I do share what I have and I've always mailed out my documents to anyone who asked, free of charge. I spend my money when need be, at cemeteries, or for look ups etc. But I'm not going to spend that kind of money on someone else's whim. Thank goodness we can learn from our errors and move on and not try to sabotage other people like I know some do. I'm off my soap box to get ready to do some TRUE genealogy work, not pretend to be all wise and know all and not share. At least I'll admit when I need help and I'll ask for it. I've had a lot of TRUE genealogist who are wanting to help. That is what genealogy is all about sharing information and helping out your fellow genealogist. I try to help out whenever I can. Now lets get to some real business and stop wasting everyone else's time! Who's with me??? Deb
