DuBois Courier 6/20/1942 Mrs. RAYMOND RENSEL, DuBois Native, Dies at 73 Mrs. EMMA RENSEL, widow of the late RAYMOND RENSEL and a native of this community, passed away at 9:45 o’clock Friday evening at her home at 330 Tozler avenue, after a short illness. She was born in West Liberty on September 19, 1869, and had spent her entire life in this vicinity, living in DuBois for fifty-three years. She was the daughter of JOHN LYONS and CATHERINE ANN HOOVER members of the West Liberty section. She was a member of the Baptist Church of this city and held the respect and esteem of a wide circle of friends. On September 20, 1889, she was untied in marriage with RAYMOND RENSEL, of DuBois, who preceded her in death. She is survived by three sons, R. LLOYD RENSEL, of DuBois, W. PAUL and J. VERNON RENSEL, both of Cleveland. Nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive, in addition to the following brothers and sisters, WILLIAM H. LYONS, and Mrs. ETTA L. LEACH, of DuBois, DAVID J. LYONS, of Big Fork, Mont., and NORMAN A. LYONS and NORA A. LYONS, both of Youngstown. Funeral services will be held on Monday morning at 11 o’clock at the Paul J. Short Funeral home, where friends will be received after 4 p.m. Saturday, Rev. THOMAS LOWTHES(?), OF THE Baptist Church will officiate and burial will be made at the West Liberty cemetery. DuBois Courier 6/20/1942 Mrs. JOHN L. EDNER Dies on Friday afternoon Mrs. EMMA ELIZA BREWER EDNER, wife of JOHN L. EDNER, of 27 Garfield Avenue, and a resident of this city for half a century died at her home at 3:46 o’clock Friday afternoon, after an illness of eight weeks due to a heart attack. She was in her seventy-third yar, having been born at Smicksburg Pennsylvania, on February 2, 1874, the daughter of DAVID and MARGARET ACKERMAN BREWER. She was a charter member of the Trinity Lutheran Church ofthis city and was held in high regard by a large circle of friends, especiallyin her won neighborhood; where she was respected as a good neighbor and for her kindliness and motherly nature. She was untied in marriage on October 11, 1905, to JOHN L. EDNER, of this city, who survives her, along with one daughter, ESTER, at home, and one brother, EBERT BREWER, of Smicksburg. Friends will be received after 3 p. m. at the Paul J. Short Funeral Home, Where burial services will be conducted at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon by Dr. B. F. RUDISILL, of the Trinity Lutheran Church, and burial will be made in Morningside Cemetery. DuBois Express 5/20/1898 MARTIN HOOVER An Highly Esteemed Citzen of DuBois Called Home. Evening Express May 12. MARTIN HOOVER, one of the earliest and most highly esteemed residents of DuBois was summoned to another world at 1:10 this morning. His condition had been very serious and the end was not unexpected. He had been suffering from dysentery for nearly three weeks and gradually grew weaker until the soul left its earthly tenement. He was the son of Mrs. and Mrs. JOHN HOOVER, who were among the earliest settlers of Clearfield County, and was born near Luthersburg fifty-one years ago the 14th of last March. His boyhood days were spent at West Liberty. In 1865 he married Miss EMILY HIPPLE of Jefferson County, at Clearfield. He is survived by his widow and six children. The later are ANNIE LUELLA (Mrs. H. B. JOHNSON), MARY ALICE (Mrs. E. E. SCHRECENGOST), WILLIAM LUTHER HOOVER, MAGGIE BELL (Mrs. L. E. DRAUCKER), CHARLES BLAKE HOOVER and Miss NELLIE N. HOOVER The youngest daughter is about 9 years of age. MR. HOOVER is also survived by three brothers and sisters. They are; GEORGE of Webster County, Iowa, JOHN of West Liberty WILLIAM of Maryland, Mrs. JOHN LYONS of West Liberty and Mrs. JOHN LYAS of Troutville. One brother preceded him. The deceased was a devout member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He was a kind and loving father, an affectionate husband and an industrious, exemplar citizen. He owned his residence, No. 2 S. Brady Street, and the building adjoining in which the Union Bargain store and A.D. Orner’s office are located. He was a member of the Protected Home Circle and leaves his family $2,000 insurance. He was a general favorite among the employees at M? DuBois’ Mill, where he worked for nearly 20 years, and a man of whom any community might be proud. Funeral services will be conducted at the M.E. Church by Rev. A. R. RICH at 10:00 o’clock on Sunday morning. Interment will be made at Rumbarger Cemetery. DuBois Courier 7/14/1930 Mrs. HEBERLING Dies in Township At Advanced Age. Mrs. MARY E. HEBERLING, wife of GEORGE HEBERLING and a venerable resident of Sandy Township, passed away at her home in West Liberty on Saturday afternoon at 5:40 o’clock as the result of influenza and chronic bronchitis, after an illness of several days. The deceased was 75 years of age and had been a resident of Sandy Township for many years. Seven sons and daughters, most of whom reside in this vicinity, survive in addition to her husband. Funeral services are to be held at the home at 2:30 o’clock Tuesday afternoon and the remains will be taken to Salem for burial. Evening Courier 7/28/1903 CLARK LYONS Laid To Rest. Mr. CLARK LYONS who resided with his daughter, Mrs. GEO. HENRY of near Rathmal, died last Friday at Skyesville, at the home of his son GEO. LYONS, Mr. LYONS was at a visit to his grand daughter in Indiana County, on his return home, reaching Skyesville he had a stroke of paralysis from which he never recovered. He was buried on Sunday afternoon, Rev. MEEK of Reynoldsville conducted the funeral rites. Mr. LYONS was nearly 80 years old, was a good citizen and neighbor esteemed by all who knew him. TRUMAN, MARY ANN, 63 years of age born in Nottingham, England, died of natural causes at East Main Street, Brookville on December 14, 1903 and will be buried in Brookville on December 14, 1903. She is the daughter of JOHN and FRANCES WALKER.
