A big thanks to those who have responded so quickly to my message. But I have a big question. Margaret Evaline Adams Depp was my husband, s ggrandmother and his grandmother was Martha Estelle (Stella) Depp Himes. According to family lore passed down from Stella Depp they were descendants to Pres John Quincey Adams, thus to Pres John Adams. I cannot make this connection. Were they direct descendants or through a nephew or some other connection? Is this fact or fiction? All his relatives declare that this is true but I am having difficulties with connecting to this lineage. I have four generations of Adams starting with John Adams, (1691-1797), married to Susanna Boylston (1709-1797). This is Pres John Adams father. If anyone is interested in these four generations will be happy to send. Along with family lore, I understand that the Historical Society of Jefferson County has printed that Robert, Margaret, s brother was a descendant of Pres John Adams.
