Hello Frank, Just wanted to offer this . I hold that Jacob Smith age 81 in 1860 Winslow page 426 may be the father of Margaret Philippi. His neighbor married to John Drumbaugh Philippi. In 1850 he and she may be listed as Phillips. But still next door. Jacob being 71 living with Barbara 69. I would never of guessed at record that the surname for Sarah was Hess. Thanks ! Our surnames touch upon all three Jacob Smiths in area. I will look at your surname Hess and 1820 entry into Jefferson county and let you know if I find anything. Thanks Again ED Strawley
