Family Tree of Johann Kaspper Breidenbach 1784 - 1868 M Katherine Wertman (Werthman) 1/5/1786 -- 2/22/1878 Johann Kasper Breidenbach: The record of his birth and baptism are taken from the Evangelical Pastorate, Congregation Schwartzenfels, Province Hesse, Germany, by the hand and seal of his pastor, N. Flur. Johann Kasper was the oldest son of his parents, George and Anna Steet Breidenbach, born at 6 a.m. and baptizes the next day at Schwartzenfels, a village near Fulda in Germany. At the age of 6 he was sent to a compulsory pubic school and when 14 years old, began the trade of wagon-maker. This occupation he followed until he was too old to work. He married Katherina, the daughter of Johannas and Kuingunda (nee Fahl) Wertman; Katherina was born in Oberhalbach, Germany. Johann Kasper and Katherina came to America in April, 1853, and located in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, on the farm of Jacob Milliron, near Putneyville. He died in his 82nd year and was buried on this farm. Katherina lived into her 92nd year and was buried beside her husband. In Germany they belonged to the State Lutheran Church. In America they united with the Evangelical Association. Katherina Wertman: The following is a transcription taken from the baptismal record book of the Evangelical Ober (Upper) Kalbach congregation in Kurbessen, Germany. "In he Ober (Upper) Kalbach Congregation there was born on the 5th day of January, 1786 and baptized on the 6th of the same year Catherine Wertman, daughter of John Werthman and his wife Kuingunda nee Fahl. The sponsor was Catherine Kirchner. For the truthfulness of this transcription I have affixed my name and the seal of the church of the Upper Kalbach on the 23 of April, 1853. The Pastor J.
