ASHLAND (OH) TIMES GAZETTE, Thursday, February 16, 1939 CHARLES H. MATEER DIES THIS MORNING Charles, H. Mateer, 60, died at 6 a.m. today at his home, 924 Union street, after being in failing health for a number of years. He was born August 21, 1878, at Mosgrove, Pa., the son of William and Sarah Helm Mateer. His marriage to Miss Delva Schuckers took place on May 13, 1908, at Reynoldsville, Pa. The same year he came to Ohio, and was employed by the Logan Gas Company. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church, the Men's Bible Class and the I.O.O.F. lodge. Survivors are his wife; a daughter, Marvene and a son, Enlow of Ashland; one brother, Jay of Kittanning, Pa.; four sisters, Mrs. Iola Templeton of Kittanning, Pa., Mrs. George Wolff of Cowansville, Pa., Mrs. Ed Wylie of Grove City, Pa., and Mrs. William Rockwell of Oil City, Pa. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran church at 2 p.m. Saturday. Dr. A. H. Smith will be in charge and interment will be made in Ashland cemetery.
