    3. BROCKWAY (PA) RECORD - March 5, 1920 (reprinted from REYNOLDSVILLE STAR) WELL KNOWN JEFFERSON CO. FARMER DIED LAST WEEK Levi Schuckers, one of the best known farmers of Jefferson county, died at his home midway between this place and Brookville, on Thursday, February 26. He had been in failing health for some time and his death was not unexpected. The funeral services were held at the Emerickville Lutheran church, conducted by Rev. J. L. Buck, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church, and burial was made in the Emerickville cemetery. The large attendance fully attested the high esteem in which Mr. Schuckers was held by the entire community. Levi Schuckers, in the days of his prime, was one of the leading farmers and lumber merchants of Jefferson county. He possessed untiring energy, was quick of perception, formed plans readily, amd was determined in their execution. His close application to business and his excellent management brought him to a high degree of prosperity. Mr. Schuckers was born January 26, 1840, in Minersville, Schuylkill county, Pa., a son of Daniel and Elizabeth Schuckers. His parents came to Jefferson county in 1857, and purchased what was then known as the Jacob Horm farm, in Winslow township, comprising 107 acres, paying for it $2,000. --------------------------------- Celebrate Yahoo!'s 10th Birthday!
