I understand mining was one factor, lumbering and perhaps farming another. And in the past I've noticed that at least some of those who moved west may have found incentive to "Go, West Young Man" because their creditors were getting a bit too close. I have a fair bit of info...not very well organized...on some of the families who went out to Jefferson, mostly Pennsylvania German names. BTW, I am looking for anything on the "Enty" surname and any related lines. --Ralph
