Since it appears that early marriage records (prior to abt. 1880) for Jefferson Co. were not kept by government agencies I'm hoping that possibly old church records may be stored somewhere. Is there a genealogical society for Jefferson Co., PA? Maybe they will know if old marriage records have been extracted from old church records and compiled somewhere or if copies of original old county church records have been archived anywhere.
