    3. There are no marriage records from that early of a time period in Jefferson County, or any of the western PA county courthouses that I have been to. You will have to check early newspapers and church records. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Diane Kittle" <diane.kittle@voyager.net> To: <PAJEFFER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, July 05, 2004 12:07 PM Subject: Early Marriage Records (1830 - 1840ish) > Are the early marriage records for Jefferson Co., PA available on-line > anywhere? > >

    3. It seems to me that marriage records in Pennsylvania officially started at the county level about 1875 or thereabouts. Before that, a person would have to search via church records. ----- Original Message ----- From: Sherry <genequeen@alltel.net> To: <PAJEFFER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, July 05, 2004 12:22 PM Subject: Re: Early Marriage Records (1830 - 1840ish) > There are no marriage records from that early of a time period in Jefferson > County, or any of the western PA county courthouses that I have been to. > You will have to check early newspapers and church records. > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Diane Kittle" <diane.kittle@voyager.net> > To: <PAJEFFER-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Monday, July 05, 2004 12:07 PM > Subject: Early Marriage Records (1830 - 1840ish) > > > > Are the early marriage records for Jefferson Co., PA available on-line > > anywhere? > > > > > >
