    3. Hello Listers: I have been researching SMOLINSKI for some time without any luck in the U.S. According to Ellis Island records there were several people with this surname, all from the village of Nizankowice, now in Ukraine, formerly Austria, Galicia, Poland who may have emigrated to PA. It appears as though they had traveled back and forth from Europe to the U.S. and back again to the PA area. The information I have from Ellis Island manifests is as follows: Their destination was the Pittsburgh area and one Ellis Island record has a Stanislaw SMOLINSKI born in what appears to be Clinton PA. SMOLINSKI [Smolinska] Anna, Stanislaw, Leona arrived Ellis Island Nov. 1913 destination states Clairton PA, husband Bazyli [Stanislaw noted as U.S.born circa 1900 but place of birth looks like Clinton] SMOLINSKI Bazyli arrived Ellis Island July 1907 destination Pittsburgh blacksmith, Ruthenian, Galicia, Nizankowice SMOLINSKI Jan arrived Ellis Island July 1905 farmer, Ruthenian, Galicia, destination 2430 Forbes St. Pittsburgh PA SMOLINSKY Tomas arrived 1913, lived in Lyndora PA until 1927 when he returned to Ukraine. Are there any SMOLINSKI connections out there to this family? Kind regards, Helen Ginn Ontario - Canada
