Jerry, Thanks, I must have been running around that area on my last trip to Indiana Co and did not realize it. I get too focused on what I am looking for and can miss something that others might need. When you determine what you need and where I might look for it, let me know. Hi, Is there any Brady family researchers of a Brady family who lived in Rose Township in the 1860's? I came across 2 tombstones a few weeks ago with the following inscribed: Nova Adelphia Brady - daughter of A.J. & S.G. Brady, died May 1, 1863 Harry G Brady - son of A.J. & S.G. Brady, died May 28, 1867 You can see pictures of the stones by going here: http://www.pa-roots.com/~jefferson/townships/rose/brady.html There didn't to be any other graves in this small family plot. Pat Steele didn't list it in her Tombstone Hoppin books. Nate Nathan Zipfel PA-Roots.com http://www.pa-roots.com/
Listers, If anyone is interested in the Thomas family I found a death notice for a Leonard Earl Thomas in the Indiana Messenger Newspaper dated Jan. 10, 1935. He was 20 years old. He lived in Markton, near Coolspring in Jefferson Co., Pa. It does not give parents etcs. but just where he died and how. I have no connection. Darla Kelly
I would like to find any newspaper article(s) which reported the death of George W. Stewart, MD, who died on 12 August 1862 in New Washington Borough, Clearfield Co., PA. He is buried at the New Washington Borough Cemetery (his death date is found on his tombstone.) New Washington Borough is located near to the southwest corner of Clearfield County, close to Jefferson, Indiana and Cambria counties (thus the cross-posting to the four county forums.) The hope is that the newspaper article will shed light on the manner of his death, and more importantly any discussion of his family and ancestry. He is supposedly descended from Col. Charles Stewart, the Commissary General who served for George Washington in the Revolutionary War. I do have his will, dated one day *after* his death, but this document does not shed light on any relatives other than his wife -- his only child was born one month after his death. He does appear as a boarder in the 1860 Census for New Washington Borough (he married his wife in 1861), but have not yet located him in the 1850 Census. He was born about 1826 somewhere in Pennsylvania. Why he was in New Washington Borough at the time is unknown. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated! Thanks. Jon Noring
Hello, Can someone please look up obituaries for my gg grandfather and gg grandmother Edinger/Ettinger/Eddinger (surname spelling likely in the preceding order). Frederick Edinger was born abt. 1814 and Susanna(h) (Avery/Amery) Edinger was born abt. 1823. They likely died in or near Clarion or Jefferson counties. Their children include Andrew, Albert, John, William, George, Henry and a Hannah Sackett. Frederick and Susanna(h) appear in the 1860 census (line 22) living in the Brookville borough of Jefferson County PA. This census spelled Susanna(h) as "Susan". Frederick's parents were Andrew Edinger, b. 1788 and Anna Mariah (Waggoner) Edinger b.1789. I believe Susanna(h) appears in the 1900 census as a widow living with her son GeorgeEdinger in Beaver Township of Clarion County PA. It would appear that Frederick was already dead by this 1900 census. I would appreciate any help finding these obits. Dennis Edinger

Yo! I really don't have time to help but I just took a minute and found J.G.Edinger 1869-1949 and probably his wife I.M.Edinger buried in Barnett Twp. Jeff. Co. He is right age to be a son of Susanna & Frederick. You didn't say which township the 1860 census was of. Then in Washington Twp. Jeff. Co. is Clarence J. Edinger born 1911 possibly still living. Check the 1930 census for him and wife Margaret I hope this helps.
