    3. Why don't someone post the Schuckers/Shugars obituaries in the Jefferson County Website. I have a connection also but have to go through my Wonderling or Geist trees to locate the family. Since my computer crashed I have no trees on my computer which makes it difficult to find someone quickly. Maybe someone will recognize a connection and let me know. Then, if I have more information to add I can do so. Darla

    1. Schuckers farm - Emerickville
    2. I've been enjoying the exchange of info on the Schuckers line(s) of the Emerickville area. While I don't have a family connection to this line, my paternal 3X great-grandfather, Robert DARRAH, owned what is referred to as "the Schuckers farm" on the county road between Brookville and Emerickville. I spent a wonderful week in Brookville in April 1994; among the many photos I took are several of this land, the barn on the south side of the road and the house on the northeast corner. Is this by chance the same farm referred to in a previous posting to this list as having been owned by Guy Schuckers? From page 431 of the 1888 Kate Scott "History of Jefferson County, PA" - "Joseph Schuckers in 1882 purchased the farm originally cleared by Artemus W. Purdy. It was successively owned by Robert Darrah, John K. Smith, John Emerick, Charles Murphy and E. Schuckers. Mr. Schuckers has since he purchased it added to it sixty acres purchased from Sarah P. Moore in 1886. The improvements are good, and this is one of the best farms in the township." I also have copies of some deeds from Jefferson Co. that relate to the Schuckers and Baum lines. On 30 June 1866, Wilson Robert Darrah (eldest son of the above mentioned Robert) sold 100 acres in Washington Twp. to Peter Baum of Pinecreek Twp. and Len Schuckers of Winslow Twp. There's a connection between the Schuckers and Baums, right? Hope this info helps the Schuckers (and associated family) researchers. Sincerely, Lorrie Darrah Griffin - lorgriff@aol.com Muskegon Co., MI

    3. Since the surname of Schuckers is currently the hot name of the day, I am trying to find out information on Sara Schuckers(first child of Daniel and Elizabeth Himes Schuckers) and Henry Kroh. I have information that they had seven children but only three survived an epidemic of the "black diptheria"( Ida Haines, Annie Snyder and one other I don't have). I am wondering anyone has any information on this specific family. I would love to know the names of those five unknown names. Hope someone can help me. I hate seeing my family group record incomplete. Thanks, Nancy

    3. Mona Do you know if the Punxutawney Spirit Obits. are available on line? I am looking for the obituary for my grandmother Elisabeth Friday Stine Mills who died 30 August 1912. She was married to Dr. NC. Mills and lived in Big Run. A kind person found me one obit but it did not include father and sibling's names--so i am looking for obits in other Jefferson Co. papers.
