Is there anyone out there working on the Showers line?... I am looking for where my great great grandfather came from... He said in PA born 1820.... Phillip Henry Showers but we do not know who his parents were only that he came to Va in probably the 1840's and never returned to PA... the only documents found with him on it are when he married, died and census... so far nothing else... Hello All, My surnames are: HINDERLITER, SHAFFER and one that is a real blocker. Frances Elmyra Hinderliter gave birth to a daughter, Effie Marie, in 1885 at Sprankle Mills, PA. She was unmarried at the time. This child later was known as Effie Bigler. So is there anyone out there researching the BIGLER name also who might shed some light on Effie? Thanks for any help, Linda

Ralph, My family moved from Philadelphia to Jefferson County in 1849. Do you know the reason so many of them moved to Jefferson County? I was just wondering why he left his parents, brothers and sisters and moved his family so far away. I figured it must be either the railroad or the mines. Thank you. Deb

Hi: Of course, I don't know the details of your search, but I can tell yuo that there's a very high likelihood that your Reitz family, and maybe Reed and Smith families, were originally from the Northumberland/Schuylkill County areas....quite a few families from here (I live in Schuylkill) went to Jefferson County in the 1800's. Kindest regards, Ralph H. Schwalm
