    3. Woody, you are great to respond here.....now I'm going to follow your directions, because I'm good at cloning...but won't the color hide the part rather than highlite it? Just thinking ahead here.....I have a photo of a roster of names and I want to highlight one of the names...but it seems that the color would hide the name????...hmmmm Barbara -----Original Message----- From: Marvin `Woody` Woodworth Sent: Monday, November 12, 2012 9:05 PM To: paint-shop-pro@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [PAINT-SHOP-PRO] highlighting on an image After thinking about it, and knowing nothing about layers, here's a way I would do it: 1. Copy the pic. Turn the copy yellow(er) or whatever shade you want, using whatever works. 2. Make a clone brush about the right size to be a highlighter. 3. Have the original and yellowed copy next to one anotther on the screen. 4. Clone the yellowed area onto the original in the width and height desired. (Getting them aligned just right can be tricky. Just enlarge both so one can clone from an exact spot to an exact spot. Then the rest is aligned). 5. Save the highlighted original but with with a new file name. 3. No, that's what normal highlighting would do. We're cloning a small portion of a yellowed picture onto the same exact area of unyellowed picture. For example, a cousin had a family group picture, but one person's head was very dark for some reason. So I created a copied picture, lightened the whole copied picture, and then cloned the lighter head over the dark head in the original picture. All looked completely normal then.
