    1. Re: [INDIANA] New to list...looking for death records....1849
    2. Jamie, I haven't found many people who go back to the St. Clairs. Although I didn't find your Samuel St. Clair (d. 1849) in my file, it doesn't mean that our St. Clairs aren't related. My file on the St. Clairs is not complete. My St. Clairs first appear at my 4th great grandmother, Elizabeth St. Clair (1770-1840), who was born in York Co., PA. Her parents are James St. Clair (1741-1806) and Sarah Miller. James St. Clair was born in York Co., PA. The St. Clair family was founded during the middle ages by Sir Walderne de St. Clair a Norman Knight. This St. Clair family is originally from Scotland, and this branch is Scotch-Irish. The children of James St. Clair and Sarah Miller are: Isabella Jane Margaret Mary Rebecca Samuel Elizebeth, m. William Stewart James, Jr., m. Jennie Slemmons Maybe the Samuel listed here is your Samuel St. Clair (d. 1849)? Do you have more information on your Samuel St. Clair? talk later, -Gary T. Gibson
