I have been searching for the parents of Amariah H. REED(1826-1884) for several years. Another researcher suggested that the H. stands for Henderson, thus I am looking into a connection between REED-HENDERSON. One such connection exists between Alexander REED, b. 1803 and his wife Lucy HENDERSON, b. 1800. Lucy and Alexander were married around 1824-25 and Amariah was born in 1826. So the numbers work. Lucy was the daughter of John HENDERSON (1772-1844) and Letitia FULLERTON (1777-1858). I find Alexander and Lucy in Young Twp. in the 1850 census. Their children are listed as John, 21; William, 19; Jane, 17; Alex, 15; Robert, 13; Samuel, 10; and Lettice (Letitia), 8. In 1850 my Amariah REED is found with his future father-in-law's family, John BUTTERBAUGH, so there is no evidence in the census that Amariah may a son of Alexander and Lucy REED. Alexander, Lucy and all of the children are missing from the 1860-1880 census. I cannot find them anywhere, which suggests that they moved. Any info as to the parents of Alexander REED and a complete listing of his children, and the familie's whereabouts in 1860-1880 would be appreciated. Thanks
