    3. Hi List, A friend of our son showed him an old newspaper story about James G. Allison who was hanged on Feb. 17, 1882 in Indiana for killing his father. Does anyone know when the last hanging occurred in Indiana county, and if any more is known about this story, it seemed to draw statewide attention at the time. Yvonne

    3. This is my favorite case and a pretty good local argument against capital punishment. This guy maintained his innocence of the crime. On her death bed, his mother confessed to having dressed up in his clothes and having done the crime. Whoopsie! I believe that this was the last capital case in Indiana County.     3. If I am correct, that was the last hanging in the county. James G. Allison's mother admitted on her deathbed that she was actually the perpetrator of the crime.
