I've been trying to find out about Balbina (born about 1821) and her sister Barbara Bookmyer (born about 1822-23) Both were born in Hechingen, Hohenzolern Province, Germany and emigrated to the US in 1842 with their parents, John and Anna Maria as well as brothers and sisters. Then they drop out of sight. I assume they married within a few years of their arrival. Their parents and siblings lived in Indiana County, Rayne Township. Bookmyer was spelled many different ways in the records then, including Bookinmyer, Bookmire, and so on. Does anyone have Barbara or Balbina in their family history?
