Kathryn, Marylin, Carol, The John L. Rager, son of Jacob and Barbara Garman, and grandson of Jacob and Mary (Unknown), was the great-grandson of Johan Michael Rager (Roger), according to the information I have. I appreciate all your information. Here is the latest I found on Ancestry's newspaper archive: Pennsy. Must Answer for Rager's Death Coroner's Jury Says Railroad Men Erred in Opening Doors. The Train Was Overcrowded Johnstown, Nov. 22--The jury empaneled at South Fork by Coproner W. B. Prothero, of this city, to determine the responsibility for the death of John L. Rager, who fell from a train on his way home from Johnstown on Halloween and died later at the Memorial Hospital, rendered a verdict holding the Pennsylvania Railroad Company responsible for the accident and the subsequent death of Rager. The witnesses examined were Elmer L. McKlowen, the brakeman on the train, and Alfred Schofield and Porter Hill, of South Fork, the later two having been standing on the platform with Rager at the time of the accident. According to the testimony produced, the brakeman asked Rager and several others to step back to open the door of the car, and after the door was opened Rager unconsciously stepped back into the opening. He fell through the floor of the vestibule hallway, and received injuries which resulted in his death. (Indiana County Gazette 1907 November 27.) I'm going to try to see if I can find anything else on the accident on Ancestry, but this was all I could find last night.
