M.J. MOORE. Mrs. Martha J. Moore was born in Indiana, December 2, 1823, and was a daughter of the late W.W. Caldwell, Esq. She was united in marriage with Rev. Carle Moore, October 6, 1840. Since that time she has experienced the trials, changes and duties incident to the life of a minister’s wife. In all these she was faithful and devoted both as a wife and mother. She was positive in her character and adhered unswervingly to the path of duty which as far as she could comprehend her Heavenly Father had marked out for her. In her devotion to that which she considered right and pure by good, she never wavered. Her last sickness was protracted for several months, and was borne with Christian resignation and great patience. She passed peacefully away at an early hour on Sabbath morning, March 12. At the beginning of the day of earthly rest she entered that rest which remaineth for the people of God. On that day she united her praise with the angels in the upper sanctuary of His lov! e and grace. “It is not death to die, To leave this weary road, And with the brotherhood on high, To be at home with God. “It is not death to fling Aside this sinful dust, And rise on strong triumphant wing To dwell among the just.” W.I.M. Homer City, Pa., March 20, 1882. [W.I.M. were the initials of Martha’s son, William I. Moore - ed.] _________________________________________________
